Tea PArty Wind down with FIREWORKS!!

Fireworks at my house! Bring all of your leftover tea party fare and we will pull up lovely cusions in my front yard for the best view of my towns festival fireworks, they are FANTASTIC every year!!!

First day of Summer Vacation

We survived our first day of summer vacation today, in spite of the fact it was broiling hot and humid. I was starting to think winter was coming back then today BLAM! it was so hot and humid blinking made you sweat! okay that might be pushing it a bit LOL but it was very hot and humid and I had three munchkins running around here invading my quiet time! LOL.

I got them each a little start of summer gift, each personal to them. Hannah got this awesome book on birds, and I altered a composition book and made her a nature journal, Hayleigh got this very cool book about writing and a new writers notebook, and Sabastian got this book on drawing Superheros, and a new sketchbook. I also got them each a fresh set of colored pencils and a very groovey pencil box. They loved everything and spent several hours checking ot their books and drawing and writing.

We watched The Golden Compass, I don’t want to give anything away incase some of you haven’t seen it, but for those that have, what the heck was that ending?????? I’ve now had to add three more booksto my Amazon wish-list which is already ridiculously large and in dire need of editing!! (I have folders and sub-folders…how sick is that??)

I am loving the art journal class I’m taking part in, that I mentioned in my last post!!

okay so this is my weekly post, I am so proud of myself!! My goal is once a month but I’d really like to make it once a week, we will see.

I gotta get to bed, Sabastian will be home EARLY tomorrow from his Dad’s and I have ALOT of work to do around here. I am purging closets and nder-bed areas (cringe) and toys. Wish me LUCK!!

Re-inventing PaRtS of me

Well surprise surprise I’m posting on my blog!

 

I’ve been making a lot of changes in my life lately, small ones, going one or two at a time, but the key is I’m doing it this time, not just talking about it.

Today is the first day of an art journaling classI’m doing online! I’m so excited to get to know everyone involved and to use this to jump start some other changes I have in mind.

Procrastination is such a huge part of so many peoples lives and even though deep down we know this, it still feels very lonely. So I am kicking procrastinations butt starting now! The first step in that goal is to set more realistic goals for myself. Instead of posting Hey I’m going to blog everyday!! then get so upset that I again didn’t follow through I am going to take baby steps and say, I’ll be really happy with myself if I blog once a week. I am going to schedule the time with myself.

I’m also hopping back on the FLYLADY wagon! I still read her e-mails everyday, I just don’t follow through with everything. But I am going to take it 15 minutes at a time and all will be well!

School is going good, I have about two weeks left until I have a month off for summer break!! Whoo Hoo.  I’ve scanned a few of my assignments into my Flickr  photostream if any one wants to see.  I still can’t believe I am an ART SCHOOL STUDENT at age 34. I love it.

Another new thing is I have discovered that I LOVE working with clay!!!! I am in need of a new camera, and hope to acquire one in the next month, so that will just have to be a small teaser for now…but I can’t wait to share!!

Finally, I have been itching to collage again and I’m doing it! I have so many ideas they seems to be bursting from my head! I will be scanning some soon.

So I made my kids a sketch blog because they draw all the time and they love to do Illustration Friday!

 We had a hard time coming up with a name that everyone liked so I picked one, Hayleigh thinks its very clever! LOL

Their initials in reverse birth order are S H H (Sabastian, Hannah, Hayleigh) and I am always or at least it feels like always telling them to please be quiet for at least five minutes, not always that politely but ya get my drift. So I named it S.H.H

Doodles

The kids and I were watching Zathura last night on Cartoon Network and I did some doodling. Then today I was playing with my new Wacom Bamboo Fun and did a bit of coloring. I love my Wacom!!!!!
